— THE PROBLEM

The debt you're trying to consolidate is the reason your bank says no.

Your ratios fail because of the exact debt you're trying to clear. That circle is what we built this for.

A low-cost line of credit secured against your home — draw down as you need.

Run your own numbers.

Nothing is submitted. Nothing is checked.

How it works

+
01
See your number in two minutes
A soft check. It does not touch your score.
02
We look at more than a score
Self-employment, commission, a business that had a bad year — we read the whole file.
03
We value your home without a six-week queue
No waiting on an appraisal slot to find out where you stand.
04
Draw what you need
Interest only on what you actually use, at 9.00%.

Who this is for

+
01
Self-employed or paid on commission
02
Declined over your ratios — not your payment history
03
Holding a mortgage rate too good to refinance away
04
Need the money in days, not months

Is my home at risk?

Yes. NotchUp Equity is secured against your home, in second position behind your existing mortgage. If you stop paying, we have a legal claim on the property, the same as your first mortgage lender does. That is what makes 9.00% possible instead of 23%. We would rather you know that on this page than find it in a document.

Do you pull my credit?

Seeing your number takes a soft check, which does not affect your score. A hard check only happens if you decide to move forward after launch.

What if my mortgage rate is low?

You keep it. We sit behind it. No refinance, no breakage penalty, no renegotiating the rate you locked in.

Is 9.00% really the rate?

One published rate, not a teaser and not a range. There is no lender or broker fee on top. If you do not qualify, we say so — we do not re-price you upward and hope you sign.

NOTCHUP RENT = PAY RENT FROM THE APP $30/MO FLAT ANY LANDLORD EVERY PAYMENT BUILDS CREDIT
— THE PROBLEM

Rent is due on the 1st. Your pay lands on the 15th.

Rent is due the 1st, you get paid the 15th, and after ten years and $200,000 of rent paid on time your credit file has nothing to show for it.

What NotchUp Rent is.

NotchUp Rent pays your landlord from the app, reports every on-time payment to the credit bureaus, and — for the months when the 1st and payday don't line up — can split your rent across your paydays. $30 a month. Works with any landlord, including yours.

Pay any landlord
Interac e-Transfer, pre-authorized debit, or bill pay.

Every on-time payment reported to the bureaus.

$30

Flat, never a percentage — $1,600 or $4,000, same price.

Any landlord

Works with a property manager and with the person who owns the basement suite. They don't have to know.

12 months

Of on-time rent, reported — one notch at a time.

Pay rent from the app. Get credit for it.

Pay any landlord, however they like to be paid — Interac e-Transfer, pre-authorized debit or bill pay. Every on-time payment reported to the credit bureaus, so rent starts building credit history.

No borrowing involved.

OPTIONAL UPGRADE

And if the 1st doesn't line up with your paycheque, split it.

Your $30 membership covers paying your rent and reporting it to the bureaus. Splitting is an optional add-on for months when the timing is tight — we pay your full rent on the 1st, you repay across your next paydays, and you only pay for the days you use it.

On a $1,000 split carried two weeks, that's about $10

Optional. 25% annual interest on what you borrow, for the days you borrow it. Subject to approval. Not required to use the membership.

A percentage of your rent isn't a small fee. It just looks like one.

Their name and how they like to get paid. That is the whole set-up.
02
Rent goes out on time, in full
Every month, and every on-time payment is reported to the bureaus.
03
Pay on the 1st — or split it
Cover it yourself, or split it across your next paydays if the timing does not line up.

Who this is for

+
01
Paid on the 15th, the 30th, or Fridays
Rent's due on the 1st, but your money arrives on its own schedule.
02
Renting from any landlord
Basement suite, condo, or building — your landlord doesn't need to sign up for anything.
03
Building a credit file
You already pay on time every month. Now it counts.
04
Done with the scramble
No more late fees, NSF charges, or cash advances to bridge the 1st.

What a $1,000 shortfall costs

What it costs, the usual ways.
Payday loan at $14 per $100$140
Landlord late fee~$85
A percentage-based split elsewhere~$30
NSF on a bounced rent payment and the rent still isn't paid$10
NotchUp Rent Split rent paid in full on the 1st~$10
Does my landlord have to agree to this?

No. We pay them the way they already like to be paid — e-Transfer, pre-authorized debit or bill pay. Nothing changes on their side.

Is Rent Split a loan?

Yes — it is credit. We pay your full rent on the 1st and you repay across your next paydays, with interest for the days it is outstanding. The membership itself involves no borrowing.

Why 25%?

Because the balance only lives about two weeks, the dollars stay small — about $10 on $1,000. We disclose the annual rate because that is the honest number, but you pay for days, not years.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Missed payments on a Rent Split can be reported to the credit bureaus and can carry fees, the same as any credit product. Membership payment reporting works both ways too — that is the point of it counting.
